Embracing the Supernatural Episode 5
Why must we fear the supernatural? I can vividly recall being afraid of the dark at a young age, feeling different and not fully belonging. Over time, I discovered a powerful spirit within, enabling me to perceive and comprehend things uniquely. Although my mother hinted at this spirit, her explanation didn't resonate due to her own limited beliefs. But certain shows and movies like Charmed, Sailor Moon, and Harry Potter and so many other favorites became my solace, helping me accept my quirks and my newly discovered spiritual side.
There was a phase where I distanced myself from these interests, seeking numbness amid life's hardships. I knew wholeheartedly that it wasn't for anyone around me to comprehend because the majority of the world harbors a fear of being truly seen. I resonate deeply with this sentiment because I, too, kept this part of myself hidden. However, I now choose to live proudly, embracing all facets of my being. However, reconnecting with my heart in the past few years led me back to the comforting memories of my childhood favorites. I realized that the darkness only became scary because I perceived it as such. The true fear was my own hesitation to fully embrace my authentic self. As Grandma Aggie wisely said in Halloweentown, ''Magic is very simple; all you gotta do is want something and let yourself have it.'' The more I embraced the unknown, the more magic unfolded in my life.
The supernatural isn't frightening unless we make it so. There's beauty in the things we've yet to comprehend. I encourage you to embrace the uncertainties that might inhibit your full potential. Allow yourself to be the magic you want to create, without the fear of judgment or misunderstanding. Listen to your voice, and life will naturally fall into place. Hope you enjoyed these words!
